CARE FUNDING IN WALES
The funding rules relating to care in Wales differ
from those in England.
The key differences can be summarised as
follows:
From April 2010, a single support threshold
was put into operation in Wales at which funding support becomes available at £22,500.
For those in nursing care a rate per week is decided upon and paid by the individual local Health Boards.
The twelve week property disregard rules apply
and the personal allowance is £23.00 per week. However, Attendance
Allowance ceases after 28 days except for those who are or will
be self funding.

Health Board in Wales or The Welsh Assembly at social_care@wales.gsi.gov.uk
